Game of Thrones is a television series adapted from George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire. The hit show, which premiered in the United States in 2011 is now on its last season.
Set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, the shows interweaves several plot lines with a large ensemble cast featuring notable names from the acting world.
David Peterson, a linguist who created new languages such as Valyrian and Dothraki for the series has now created more than 5,000 words for Game of Thrones. He has also created languages for nine shows and three movies. "Before Game of Thrones, no language creator ever thought they would be paid for their work at all," he told CBS News. "It was just all completely unrealistic. It's basically our golden age."
